Account Deletion
You can delete your SUFX account at any time. This page explains the steps and what happens to your data afterwards.

How to delete your account
From the app (recommended)
- Open SUFX on your phone.
- Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account.
- Confirm the deletion. The app signs you out as soon as the request is accepted.
By email
If you cannot access the in-app flow, send an account-deletion request to [email protected] from the email address registered on your account. We will action the request within five business days, and in any event no later than one month, as required by GDPR Article 12(3).
Export your data before deletion
If you want a copy of your data before deletion, request an export by emailing [email protected] from your registered email. Once the deletion is processed, the data cannot be recovered.
What gets deleted
The following data is permanently removed:
- Your email address, name, profile picture, and OAuth links.
- Your vocabulary, review history, essay drafts, notes, and other learning content.
- Your push-notification tokens and notification preferences.
- Your subscription record in our database (the underlying purchase remains with the App Store or Google Play; see “What does not get deleted” below).
What does not get deleted
- Your Apple ID or Google account itself — SUFX only removes the link between your SUFX account and the third-party account. You may separately revoke “Sign in with Apple” at Settings → Apple ID → Sign in with Apple on your iPhone, and “Sign in with Google” at myaccount.google.com → Security → Third-party apps.
- Active store subscriptions — deleting your SUFX account does not cancel an active subscription with Apple or Google. You must cancel the subscription separately, before account deletion, or you will continue to be billed.
- Encrypted backups — backups taken before deletion may persist on rotation media for up to 90 days. They are not accessible for restoration and are overwritten on the standard backup-rotation schedule.
- Anonymised aggregate metrics — counts that contain no personal identifiers may be retained indefinitely for service-quality analysis.
How to cancel a subscription
- iOS: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → SUFX → Cancel Subscription.
- Android: Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → SUFX → Cancel.
Retention timeline
- Immediately: account access is revoked; authentication tokens are invalidated.
- Within 30 days: all personal data is removed from production systems.
- Up to 90 days: encrypted backups may persist; they are then overwritten on rotation.
Re-registration after deletion
You may register a new SUFX account at any time after deleting your previous one. There is no cooldown period. The new account is independent of the deleted account:
- it has a new internal identifier;
- previous learning content (vocabulary, review history, essay drafts) cannot be restored, even if you register with the same email address or OAuth provider;
- previous subscription history is not transferred. If the original store subscription is still active (because you did not cancel before deletion), the new account will recognise it once you sign in with the same Apple ID or Google account.
